Sesto is nestling in the stunning mountain world of the Sesto Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage. The idyllic and peaceful village offers nature at its best, the world renowned Three Peaks and other important Dolomite peaks, as well as a unique spectacle of nature: The largest stone sundial in the world, the Sesto sundial. The Val Fiscalina valley is also stunningly beautiful.

For climber Reinhold Messner the Dolomites are the most beautiful mountains in the world. UNESCO also thought them worth protecting and awarded the UNESCO World Heritage status in 2009.

  • Three Peaks: The Three Peaks represent the quintessence of the Sesto Dolomites. Alpinists and climbers travel from all over the world to climb the Three Peaks.
  • Sesto sundial: The five Dolomite peaks of Cima Nove, Cima Dieci, Cima Undici, Cima Dodici and Cima Uno make up the largest stone sun dial in the world.
  • Val Fiscalina: The Val Fiscalina valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty, ideal for walks.
  • Rudolf Stolz Museum: Over 160 pieces by this important Tyrolean artist including his most important work, the “Danse Macabre” can be seen in Sesto.
  • Bellum Aquilarum: During the First World War Sesto and the Sesto Dolomites saw a great deal of military conflict. The open-air museum Bellum Aquilarum in the mountains and the exhibition of the same name in the village explore this chapter in history.
